Interpretation

Radiographic Impressions:

Slight lack of abdominal detail may be due to decreased fat or small accumulation of fluid. Mass effect involving the colon due to the mass effect within and adjacent to it (see image below). Other differentials should include small bowel or mesenteric lymph nodes. This may be accumulation of feces within the colon proximal to this area. Recommend abdominal ultrasound if clinically indicated.

Ultrasonographic Impressions:

Colonic mass differentials should include neoplasia, granulomatous disease, or inflammatory changes. Lymphadenopathy. Recommend fine needle aspirate if clinically indicated.
