Emergency Evacuation Shelter for Animals

Small Animal:

Kansas State Animal Response Team (KS SART) has secured sheltering space for pets whose owners are being evacuated and do not have housing for them.

Current shelter location:

Westview Church

615 Gillespie Dr.

Manhattan, KS

Space is available on a first come first, served basis. No need to contact the shelter in advance. Additional sites are in the process of being secured and will be announced as they become available.

Large Animal:

Equine and Livestock Services at the Veterinary Health Center will be opening 30 stalls for VHC clients (15 for horses, 15 for livestock) with horses and/or livestock affected by the flooding and are in need of housing for their animals. This is at a discounted rate. Clients are encouraged to bring their own feed and supplies as well as tend to their animals.

The VHC is offering these stalls to clients first, and will be opened to non-clients if there is still room.
