Equine Medicine Residency
The Veterinary Health Center at Kansas State University offers a three year Equine Internal Medicine Residency. The program is designed to provide clinical and academic training to fulfill American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine requirements and prepare the resident for ACVIM board certification and a career in academic or private referral practice. Enrollment in the graduate school and completion of a program leading to the Master of Science degree is required. The clinical responsibilities include management of referral internal medicine, in-house emergency cases, and emergency field service calls.
Resident candidates are selected through the American Association of Veterinary Clinicians (AAVC) Veterinary Internship and Residency Matching Program (VIRMP). Information about position availability, program descriptions and forms needed to apply can be found at the VIRMP web site.
