Equine Internship
The Equine Internship at the Veterinary Health Center is a 12-month post-DVM clinical program that provides clinical training in equine surgery, internal medicine, theriogenology and field service. The intern provides clinical service under the supervision of senior clinicians. The intern is expected to provide direct patient care, interact with clients and referring veterinarians, participate in the instruction of students and participate in scholarly activities. Emergency duty is an integral part of the program and will include ambulatory responsibilities, as well as aiding and participating in equine cases considered routine at VHC.
Intern and resident candidates are selected through the American Association of Veterinary Clinicians (AAVC) Veterinary Internship and Residency Matching Program (VIRMP). Information about position availability, program descriptions, and forms needed to apply can be found at the VIRMP website.
